Our restaurant, near Okehampton specialises in local produce. The South West of England is blessed with wonderful supplies of fresh meat, fish and vegetables direct from the farmer, fisherman or grower as well as a host of small artisan producers of cheese, ice cream and smoked products to name but a few. At Bearslake Inn good food is very important to us. We like to cook from fresh using local ingredients, making as much as we can, including the stocks for our gravy and sauces. Our shopping criteria are simple; best quality, locally produced, if not local then English and if we need to, we look further afield; after all we are not yet growing lemons in Okehampton or Dartmoor!
