Teign Cellars

Pub and Restaurant

Home of craft beer, ciders and wine

Bright and airy pub. Serves good basic food dishes and great real ales.

Cask, Keg craft ales, bottled beers, cider, artisan spirits not only locally sourced but from around the world including USA. Teign Cellars was born from a passion for great Beers and Ciders. Not only from our doorstep here in the West Country but all over the UK, Europe and America. I felt that Newton Abbot was well overdue somewhere that stocked a good selection of Beers and Ciders. So who am I? My name is Stuart and I have been involved in the catering and Beer scene in South Devon for most of my life. As a fully qualified chef, I acquired The George Inn at Blackawton in 1995 and built up a great reputation for serving top quality real ales and pub food. With my commitment to Beer excellence, I was voted Pub of the Year in 1997 by South Devon CAMRA. After that I then bought my second pub, The Weary Ploughman in Churston in 2001. I received a merit award by CAMRA in 2003, in recognition of my promotion of real Ale’s and then went on to win the South Devon CAMRA pub of the year award again. My pubs have also not only appeared in the good beer and good pub guides, but have come recommended by the guides! Passionate about ale, I have travelled to many countries such as Belgium, Czech Republic, Japan, USA, Germany and even Kazakhstan to source beers for my own consumption. This dedication is brought to Teign Cellars where I am tracking down the best selection of ales, porters, smoked, lambic and champagne beers for your drinking pleasure.
