The Bull Inn Battle is a 17th century coaching inn built with stones from the original Battle abbey kitchen which gives this building its distinctive character. If you are just visiting the area or even a local then the bull is definitely a 'must' to visit whether it is for a relaxed drink in our traditional bar selling a selection of local real ales, a place to stay in one of our B&B rooms which all have en-suite bathrooms and include breakfast, or for something to eat in our restaurant which serves seasonal foods and a good selection of daily specials. The bull stands in the centre of Battle which is the hub of 1066 country and is a great natural base to explore this historic area from with good travel links to the rest of 1066 country. If you are visiting the region then it certainly has more than enough on offer to fill your stay with plenty to do. Within a 20 minute journey of the town, you will find historic buildings, wonderful gardens, golf courses, steam railways, hiking trails, country walks, horse riding, country sports, theatres and of course the town of Battle itself which is an historic market town with a vibrant high street of small independent retailers which sell unique products. The Abbey which is sited right in the centre of the town and is reportedly built on the spot where King Harold fell during the Battle of Hastings in 1066 is also open to visitors although we would advise to check there website for opening times etc. We are also very proud to be Camra recognised for our selection of real ales some brewed as little as 6 miles away! We feel it important to support our local brewers and offer our customers a good choice of real ales and once you give our ales a try you will understand why we love them so much!
