Our traditional 16th century English country pub is set in some of Berkshire's finest countryside, and was originally a set of cottages belonging to local woodmen.

The Old Hatchet pub lies on Hatchet Lane in Cranbourne, between Ascot and Windsor. It’s a beautiful country pub surrounded by some of Berkshire’s most beautiful greenery – and a wealth of great attractions lie close by. Easily reached by car or bus, our rural location makes us perfect for families on walks, or for lunch after a drive through the country. Long popular with local gastronomes, The Old Hatchet, Cranbourne, enjoys a growing reputation for fine food near Windsor and Ascot. Our menu centres on traditional pub classics – but this isn’t your standard pub grub… Indeed, because we source our meat and fish from local suppliers, you’re guaranteed some of the freshest, tastiest dishes around. Alongside our main menu, we also serve up a host of ever-changing daily specials – and on Sunday you can enjoy our fabulous roast with all the trimmings. It can get extremely busy though, so it’s usually a good idea to book a table in advance. We are located just over a 5 minute drive away from Legoland Windsor Resort and 5 minutes drive away from Royal Ascot Racecourse.
