One of the oldest existing pubs in Windsor, The Prince Arthur’s story dates back to 1877. Initially within the site of Windsor Castle, it was owned for many years by A.E Freeman, and was run as a coach stop for travellers to Windsor. Later, around 1910, development of Windsor saw the pub enclosed by the residential properties that sprang up. It became a local – and a popular one at that. It was also the first second-hand motor dealership in Windsor, when the landlord of the time utilised the coach yard at the rear to sell automobiles of the day! The Prince Arthur has been quenching locals thirsts since 1877. Just a few minutes walk from the centre of town is Windsor's best kept secret.
