It is a three-in-one affair: independent burger joint; coffee shop; and artisan ice cream parlour all rolled into one! First, our burgers We make our original beef burgers from beef from our local butcher (one of our most popular burgers–The Surfer–features The Blue Door’s Secret Sauce made from our family recipe). We’re not just about burgers, though. In addition to hot dogs, panini, and mozzarella sticks, we’ve also got on offer Fish ‘n Chips with North Atlantic Haddock from our local fish monger at Thurso Harbour. Our Breakfast Menu (served from 10am until 11.45am) includes French toast served with a side of crispy bacon (‘The Caithness Combo’), pancake stacks with an egg and bacon (‘The Floridian’), as well as a breakfast sampler plate including a fried egg, crispy bacon, sausage links, haggis, baked beans, and toast (‘The Thurso Bay Sampler); The Best Cup of Joe As for coffee, we use single-origin Arabica beans for our espresso-based coffees and offer a selection of milks to meet various dietary requests. We’ve always got a pot of filter coffee on (our ‘cup of joe’) and keep a selection of teas on hand including every day tea and herbal ones; I Scream. You Scream. We All Scream for Ice Cream! Our house-made ice cream–a Bronze Award recipient at Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Show–makes for a delicious ice cream treat and also serves as the basis of our famous milkshakes of which there are more than 50 flavours from which to choose; With that, we can’t wait to see y’all at The Blue Door!
